Hydrolyzed silk is a natural ingredient that is derived from the leftover cocoons made by silkworms. It works especially well to add luster and shine to hair. The majority of hydrolyzed silk protein are preserved with Phenoxyethanol, but ours is preserved with Potassium Sorbate, a natural organic compound found in the berries of the mountain ash and Benzilalcohol, a naturally occuring product most commonly found in plants (cranberries, apricot, ylang ylang).
