Some ingredients to avoid while your lips are chapped: Fragrance, Phenol (or phenyl), Lanolin, Propyl gallate, Octinoxate or oxybenzone.
2. Apply lip balm several times a day and before bed.
To keep your lips protected, reapply frequently. You need about six to eight coats during the day, so apply first thing in the morning, last thing at night, and every couple of hours during the day.
3. Drink plenty of water
Chapped lips are dry lips, so you want to stay hydrated
4. Avoid licking your lips
When lips feel dry, it may feel natural to wet them by licking them, but this can worsen the problem. As saliva evaporates, your lips become drier.
5. Don’t exfoliate chapped lips
It can cause further damage to chapped lips. Instead, apply plenty of balm and turn on the humidifier.
